Arthur Hugh “Art” Knight

December 6, 1943 - July 2, 2014

Through fellowship, leadership, and more than four decades of devoted service, Art strengthened the bonds of friendship and community wherever he went.

Arthur Hugh “Art” Knight was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, loyal friend, and dedicated member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.

Born and raised in Winnipeg, Art spent his life in the city he called home. He worked in a variety of occupations, but his greatest sense of purpose and fellowship came through his involvement with the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs.

For more than 40 years, Art served the Order with loyalty and enthusiasm. He was first a member of Hiawatha Lodge and later Alpha Lodge, remaining active throughout his life. His commitment and leadership eventually led him to serve as Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Manitoba from 1987 to 1988.

Through the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs, Art formed many enduring friendships and embraced the organization’s values of friendship, love, truth, charity, and service to others.

Above all, Art was devoted to his family. He shared his life with Beth, his best friend and beloved wife. He was a loving father to Scott and Karin and a proud grandfather to Jessica, Briana, and Doug.

Art passed away on July 2, 2014, surrounded by the love and memories of his family and friends.
