Through fellowship, cultural pride, and a lifelong connection to her community, Audrey helped keep the traditions and spirit of Scotland alive in Winnipeg.

Audrey Emily McLeod was a devoted mother, sister, aunt, friend, and proud member of Winnipeg’s Scottish community.
Born in East Kildonan, Audrey spent her entire life in East and North Kildonan, building deep roots in the neighbourhoods she called home. She shared her life with her beloved husband, Cecil Alexander McLeod, and was a loving mother to their son, Roy.
Audrey took great pride in her Scottish heritage and was actively involved in several cultural and community organizations. She was a member of Melrose Camp No. 126 of the Sons of Scotland, the Robert Burns Club, and Bleak House. She also volunteered with Folklorama’s Pavilion of Scotland, helping celebrate and preserve Scottish traditions within Winnipeg’s multicultural community.
Her community involvement also included membership in Royal Canadian Legion Prince Edward Branch No. 81, where she shared in the fellowship and service of the Legion community.
Audrey passed away at Concordia Hospital on August 18, 2009, with her family by her side. She is lovingly remembered by her son, Roy; her sister, Islay; her many nieces and nephews; relatives in England and Australia; and her close friend, Brian McNulty.
