Elizabeth (Betty) Morrison
June 13, 1925 - March 5, 2011
Through family, faith, volunteerism, and an enduring love of Scotland, Betty helped preserve the warmth and spirit of her heritage for future generations.

Elizabeth “Betty” Morrison was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, church member, and longtime volunteer whose Scottish heritage remained close to her heart throughout her life.
Born in Scotland on June 13, 1925, Betty married her husband, Bill, during the Second World War. She later came to Canada as a war bride, beginning a new life far from her homeland.
Betty and Bill settled in Winnipeg’s St. Vital community, where they raised their daughters, Jean and Liz. Family was at the centre of Betty’s life, and she took great pride in her grandchildren, Kelly, Roxane, Cory, and Shannon, and her great-grandchildren, Ayla and Annike.
Betty worked for several years at Luke’s Electric. She was also an active member of Regents Park United Church, now St. Mary’s Road United Church, where she found friendship, fellowship, and opportunities to serve others.
Proud of her Scottish roots, Betty volunteered for many years with Folklorama’s Pavilion of Scotland. Through her dependable service, she helped welcome visitors and preserve the traditions, fellowship, and cultural pride that made the Pavilion a home away from home for Winnipeg’s Scottish community.
Betty passed away peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital on March 5, 2011, at the age of 85, with her family by her side.
