Irene Clark
June 25, 2005
Through friendship, volunteerism, and a joyful devotion to family and community, Irene brought encouragement and warmth to many lives.

Irene Clark lived a life marked by devotion to her family, generous service to others, and an enthusiastic involvement in her community.
Before coming to Canada, Irene worked for the General Post Office in England. In 1968, she moved to Winnipeg with her husband, Norman, and their daughters, Karen and Maria. She later worked for the Province of Manitoba for 20 years, retiring in 1994.
Retirement opened a new chapter of service for Irene. She volunteered her time with CancerCare Manitoba and Deer Lodge Centre, offering companionship, care, and support to those who needed it. She was also a member of the Air Force Association and St. James Chapter No. 25 of the Order of the Eastern Star.
With her lively spirit and love of friendship, Irene played an active role in establishing the St. James Rhinestones chapter of the Red Hat Society. She was also a valued volunteer with the Pavilion of Scotland, where she shared in the celebration of Scottish culture and community.
Family remained at the centre of Irene’s life. She took great interest in the lives and activities of her daughters, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter, and found tremendous joy in their accomplishments.
After a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer, Irene passed away on June 25, 2005, at the age of 69.
In recognition of her life and service, a memorial scholarship fund was established in her name through the Air Force Heritage Fund.
