Kathryn Helen “Kathy” Rea (nee Grabowski)

April 8, 1957 - September 1, 2016

Through creativity, laughter, generosity, and an abiding love for family and friends, Kathy made the world around her a warmer and happier place.

Kathryn Helen “Kathy” Rea was a devoted wife, loving mother, creative spirit, and treasured friend whose kindness and joy for life left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

Kathy shared her life with her husband, Larry, and was immensely proud of their children, Megan and Daniel. Family was at the heart of her life, and she gave them her unwavering love, encouragement, and support.

She was remembered by friends and coworkers as a warm-hearted and generous person who always had a kind word, an entertaining story, or a helping hand to offer. Her thoughtfulness extended naturally to those around her, and she frequently placed the needs of others before her own.

Kathy had many creative talents. She enjoyed playing the piano, crafting intricate cross-stitch pieces, baking, gardening, singing amusing little songs, and filling ordinary moments with humour. She also loved travelling and took great pleasure in sharing stories of her family’s adventures.

Kathy was a valued member of the Pavilion of Scotland community, where her love of people and willingness to contribute became part of the friendship and fellowship at the heart of the Pavilion.

She passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on September 1, 2016, at the age of 59.
