Patricia May “Pat” MacKay
May 1, 1933 - February 14, 2011
Through service, friendship, laughter, and an unfailing concern for others, Pat brought warmth and happiness wherever she went.

Patricia May “Pat” MacKay was a devoted mother, grandmother, veteran, volunteer, and cherished friend whose kindness, infectious smile, and generous spirit brightened every community she joined.
Born in Winnipeg, Pat later lived in Ontario and Quebec, where she served with the Royal Canadian Air Force before returning home to Manitoba.
Throughout her working life, Pat was employed with the Bank of Montreal, the Manitoba Taxation Centre, and the Scotia Data Centre. Following retirement, she enjoyed spending her winters in Nokomis, Florida, where she formed many lasting friendships.
Pat treasured the years spent with family and friends at her cottage in Victoria Beach. It was a place of companionship, relaxation, laughter, and many happy memories.
Service to others was an important part of Pat’s life. She volunteered with Citizens on Patrol, Speed Watch, the Red Hat Society, and Folklorama’s Pavilion of Scotland. Through these organizations, she gave freely of her time and became known as someone who could always be counted on to help.
Pat was especially proud of her daughter, Bonnie; her son, James; and her granddaughters, Laura and Jenna. To her family, she was lovingly known as “Nani” and remembered simply as the best mother and grandmother anyone could have hoped for.
Pat passed away suddenly at Selkirk General Hospital on February 14, 2011, at the age of 77.
