Ronald Craig Lamb
January 1, 1916 - January 5, 1999
Through service, mentorship, music, and a lasting devotion to his heritage, Ron helped pass the traditions of Scotland to future generations.

Ronald “Ron” Craig Lamb lived a life shaped by family, service, music, education, and pride in his Scottish heritage.
Born in the coastal town of Arbroath, Scotland, Ron maintained a lifelong connection to the place and traditions of his youth. During the Second World War, he served with the Royal Air Force from 1940 to 1945.
Ron later made Western Canada his home, living in Winnipeg for approximately 40 years. In 1993, he moved to Calgary to be closer to his family.
He shared 57 devoted years of marriage with his beloved wife, Bess. Together, they raised their son, Craig, and daughter, Margaret. Ron was also a proud grandfather to Shannon, Chris, and Nell.
For 34 years, Ron was a dedicated member of Immanuel United Church in Winnipeg. Music was an important part of his life, and he faithfully shared his voice as a member of the church choir.
Ron also had a longstanding commitment to Scouting, both in Arbroath and Winnipeg. Combining his dedication to young people with his love of Scottish tradition, he helped establish the Lord Selkirk Boy Scouts Pipe Band, creating an opportunity for generations of youth to experience piping, fellowship, discipline, and Scottish culture.
Professionally, Ron worked in the University of Manitoba’s Department of Physics until his retirement in 1981. Beyond his career, he remained active in Winnipeg’s Scottish community and is remembered as part of the Pavilion of Scotland family.
Ron passed away peacefully in Calgary on January 5, 1999, at the age of 82.
